Intro

I learned how to extract and present actionable insights that deliver business value from common data sources like Excel, CSV files, and SQL databases. I also gained practical mastery of Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Tableau, and Python for data analysis. Check out my work.

This is a Tableau dashboard I've created as part of a Udemy course. The purpose is to identify and evaluate startups based on revenue, expenses, and growth. The dashboard allows users to: 1. Adjust revenue and expense parameters 2. Specify the top N growth leaders to visualize 3. Click a startup in the list and highlight it on the scatter plot 4. Hover over a data point for additional info I also added my own personal customization. Namely, utilizing Tableau's container options to create collapsible instructions.

This is a research project I completed using The World Happiness Report dataset from data.world. The World Happiness Report is a landmark survey of the state of global happiness that ranks 156 countries by how their citizens perceive themselves to be. The file was downloaded in a csv file format, which I uploaded into Google Collab, and then mounted onto a jupyter notebook. The research question I sought to answer was: Does more money equal more happiness? My hypothesis going in was that countries with a higher GDP would have a higher happiness scores. I tested my hypotheses by using Pearson's correlation test, in order to determine whether the correlation between country GDP and overall happiness was statisticall significant. Like other correlation coefficients, this one varies between -1 and +1 with 0 implying no correlation. Correlations of -1 or +1 imply an exact linear relationship. I determined that the coefficient was very close to 1 implying a very strong correlation between GDP and Happiness score. The P-value was statistically significant as well. While there may be other factors that play into the overall ranking, we can confidently say this is statistically significant. The Pearson correlation coefficient measures the linear relationship between two datasets. Positive correlations imply that as x increases, so does y. Negative correlations imply that as x increases, y decreases. When we look at this relationship visually using a scatterplot we can see that as the Ecocomy_GDP rises so does the Happiness_score. .

I built out a strategic dashboard providing insight for a superstore, that required me to create several custom parameters, calculations, and 16 different sheets. I created these variables in order to combine them all into a strategic dashboard that provides at a glance insight on how the superstore is performing.
